With Greater Boston seeing diversity on the rise and being the third fastest growing tech hub according to a 2019 report from Indeed Hiring Lab, why does minority representation in the tech sector remain low?
According to The State of the Massachusetts Tech Economy 2019 report released by the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Technology (MassTLC), about one-third of all workers are women, 5 percent of tech workers are Black, and 7 percent are Latinx.

As such, Code for Boston and Hire for Heart are partnering to organize this event to gather diverse talent in the Greater Boston area and create opportunities for starting and enhancing their career in tech. Click here to view our event schedule.
Panel
Panelists with varying backgrounds and experiences in technical and non-SWE (non-software-engineering) positions will speak about how they identified and created opportunities to either start or enhance their own tech careers.
Workshops
Professionals can choose from a roster of workshops to attend that are relevant to varying career stages because of the different needs.
1-on-1 Guidance
Volunteers are ready to help in a more personalized way, whether you're looking for someone to provide feedback on your resume, conduct a mock interview, or wanted to chat one-on-one for career guidance (e.g. career transition).
Exhibit Hall
There will be space for speaking with companies that are hiring or training providers and others providing resources, as if you were at a real exhibition hall.
